Do you have OCD?

If you have a habit of checking the stove several times before leaving the house and are unsure if it is OCD, there are three things that can help to clarify. The first is to see if excessive thoughts and behaviors are causing anxiety and suffering. The second, whether family life, work or studies are being harmed. The third, if the time spent is more than an hour a day.

OCD is characterized by persistent and inappropriate thoughts and / or repetitive behaviors to alleviate suffering or prevent something bad from happening. Cognitive-behavioral therapy treats OCD by helping to change the situation and to look for new ways to understand yourself and the world.
